Carter Haponski and Will Kengor had three hits apiece to power a 15-hit attack as the Slippery Rock University baseball team captured a 12-5 victory over Gannon Saturday to salvage a split of the doubleheader.

The duo finished the day with four hits each, with Kengor having a double and triple in the nightcap. Gannon (9-9, 1-1) had plated three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to come away with a 4-2 victory.

Zach Jeney pitched a complete game in the opener, but was tagged with the loss.

Garret Peterson allowed four runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk in 4 1/3 innings to pick up the win for SRU (7-11-1, 1-1).

SRU lacrosse downs QueensCasey Quinn tallied seven goals and Amy Halls became the first 200-point scorer in SRU history as The Rock downed Queens University 13-12 Saturday.Quinn needed just eight shots for the seven goals while Halls tacked on two goals as SRU (2-0) recovered from a 7-3 deficit.Holly Webb, Morgan Pettit, Katie Roof and Paige Costantino also scored for SRU.
