NEW CASTLE — The New Castle School Board on Monday voted to accept the resignation of Frank Bongivengo, 47, who cited “personal reasons” that would affect his ability to coach the high school football team.

Bongivengo, a social studies teacher, and his 46-year-old wife, Karen, are awaiting trial on charges they conspired to steal about $3,600 from the New Castle Youth Football program.
