Rose Young Miller
Rose M. Young Miller, 71, of Chicora Road, Butler, died Thursday afternoon at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born May 10, 1940, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Hockenberry) Young.
Rose had worked as the secretary for O'Donnell's Distributor for 30 years until her retirement in July 2008. She had previously worked for the Spaide Shirt Factory and Bobbie Brooks Garment Co., both in Butler.
Rose was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora, had attended St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center, was a member of the Women of the Moose, Butler Lodge, and loved to sew.
Surviving are her husband, Robert P. Miller, who she married July 3, 1967; four brothers, Edward F. (Margaret) Young of Butler, James R. (MaryAnn) Young of Chicora, Thomas (Sherry) Young of Chicora, and Roger (Patti) Young of Butler; four sisters, Louise O'Donnell of Chicora Road, Alice Fontaine of Butler, Helen (Jesse) Raabe of Butler, and Jenny Blaha of Eureka, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Gertrude Landgraf, Caroline DeLair and Ruth Kelly.
