BUTLER TWP — The annual Lernerville Speedway Awards Banquet honored a number of local drivers Saturday at the Butler Days Inn.
Carl Bowser of Sarver received his 2011 Sprint points championship award along with the Sportsmanship Award while Mike Miller of Saxonburg received his Sportsman Stock points title award.
Mike Turner of Butler was named most improved in the Modified division and Petrolia's Lindsay Enscoe received the Hard Luck Award.
Cranberry Township's Lynn Geisler received the Milestone in Racing Award. Brett McDonald of Saxonburg and John Garvin Jr. of Sarver received checkered flags for securing their first career feature wins.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Butler graduate Tony Grenek, in his first year as head coach of the Point Park University women’s basketball team, has led the Pioneers to their first-ever NAIA Tournament berth.No. 23 Point Park (23-6) will play No. 10 Corban (Ore.) at 8 p.m. EST Thursday in Sioux City. The entire 32-team tournament will be played at that site through March 13.
