L. Frank Nixon, 70, of Connoquenessing Township, died Tuesday evening at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born Dec. 21, 1941, in Oregon, and was the son of Naomi Nixon.

He was a mechanic and operator for Union Local 66 in Pittsburgh. Frank was a professional tinkerer and could fix anything.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret J. “Peg” Robinson Nixon, who he married on Jan. 2, 1987; three daughters, Tammy Howell (Ernie) in Florida, and Chris Tharnish (Brad) and Colleen Mashburn, both of Gibsonia; a cousin, Mary Datt of Gibsonia; and eight grandchildren.

<B>NIXON</B> — Friends of L. Frank Nixon, who died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, will be received at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Services will follow at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.Memorials may be made to the Lighthouse Foodbank, 1302 E.
