Dargakis

George Dargakis, 81, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday in Jameson Memorial Hospital following an illness.

He was born March 28, 1930, in Olymbos, a village on the island of Karpathos, Greece.

He married the former Angelena Manolios on May 1, 1955. She passed away on Jan. 6, 1997.

George was a furnace tender for Crane Company for more than 30 years.

He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Castle and he was a life member of the Karpathian Society.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary D. Keffalas and her husband, John, of Butler; two grandsons, Andrew P. Keffalas of Virginia and Matthew G. Keffalas of Woburn, Mass.; and one brother, Michael Dargakis of Greece.

George was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter, Lucy Dargakis.
