Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts in Foxburg will host the Alexander String Quartet at 2 p.m. Sunday in Lincoln Hall on Palmer Street. The quartet, based in San Francisco, travels each March to Western Pennsylvania for a residency program at Allegheny College in Meadville. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Other upcoming center events include an Irish music concert at 7 p.m. March 16 at Lincoln Hall, with tickets at $10 for adults and $5 for students. To reserve tickets, call 412-867-1816. <B>Music in a Great Space, </B>the concert series at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place, presents organist Mark Anderson in concert at 4 p.m. March 11. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, and free for students and children. Proceeds benefit the missions of the church. Call 412-682-4300 or visit www.shadysidepres.org.<B>Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra</B> presents “Shostakovich Five,” a free concert at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Ave. Area students Michaela Valenta of Mars, who plays the cello, and Ken Klabnik of Sarver, who plays the French horn, are members of the orchestra.
