Ronald H. “Pete” Brueckman, 77, of Evans City died Friday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.

Born Nov. 10, 1934, in Evans City, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Opal M. Kennedy Brueckman.

Mr. Brueckman was a member of the Crestview Presbyterian Community Church in Callery. He had been a rigger at ARMCO, now AK Steel, retiring in April 1994 after 34 years of service.

Pete was a member of the Evans City Firemans Association; the Zelienople American Legion; the Harmony Moose; the Hungarian Beneficial Society; the Evans City Sportsman Club, serving as president for five years; the Oakview (Armco) Golf Club; and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He served as secretary and treasurer for 45 years at Camp Shanty Point in Hyder, Pa., and he was a life member of the NRA. Pete also was a member of the Tri-Boro Golf League and the Pennsylvania Harness Association, and he was co-owner of Detroit Brett.

He was a supporter of the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. In 2002 Pete received the Seneca Valley Wrestling Recognition Award and he also was a member of the Seneca Valley School District Senior Citizen Gold Card Club.

In 1989, Pete shot a hole-in-one on the 195-yard number 7 hole at Krendale South. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and all high school sports.

He is survived by seven children, Ronald Brueckman of Butler, Sandy (Rick) Scheller of Rochester, Claudia (Robert) Ripper of Callery, Marjorie Brueckman of Renfrew, Deborah Heath of Renfrew, Ruth (Kevin) Craddock of Evans City and John (Cheri) Daw of Evans City; nine grandchildren, Wade J. Brueckman, Dean B. Brueckman, Brendan F. Craddock, Adam E. Craddock, Dylan J. Craddock, Christan (Alan) Baker, Sara Lynn Brueckman, Jamie Heath and Carrie (Carl) Ealy; four great- grandchildren, Callie Elle Baker, Jakob R. Kennedy, Caleb K. Geyer and Lucas R. Geyer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Brueckman, on Jan. 27, 2010, and by a son, James Daw.

<B>BRUECKMAN</B> — Friends of Ronald H. “Pete” Brueckman, who died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Crestview Presbyterian Community Church, 210 Kline Ave., Callery, with the Rev. Robert Goosen, officiating.
