PITTSBURGH — The WPIAL isn’t going to discipline Brentwood High School or its boys basketball team for alleged racist remarks during a Feb. 3 game against Monessen.

The tensions between the two high schools — one largely white, the other predominantly black — have boiled over into accusations of racism.

Monessen parents and students say they heard slurs from Brentwood students, but administrations at that school say an investigation didn’t confirm that.

Dog that fatally bit baby gets new homeMCKEESPORT — The dog police say fatally bit a newborn baby last week has a new home.Bill Uhring adopted the 1½-year-old Husky from a McKeesport shelter this week.The animal bit 2-day-old Howard Nicholson on Feb. 16 while his mother was in the bathroom. The baby was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and pronounced dead.Uhring called Nicholson’s death a tragedy but the dog wasn’t deemed a danger and deserves a good home.
