Wahl

Kathryn E. “Katie” Wahl, 79, of Zelienople passed away Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford.

Born June 15, 1932, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Soltesz) Zajacz.

Mrs. Wahl was a life-member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church and was a former member of the ladies funeral choir. She was the benefits coordinator and payroll administrator at Hallstead Industries for 40 years, and she retired as benefits coordinator for six years at Veca Industries.

Mrs. Wahl was an accomplished ballroom dancer.

She is survived by her son, Robert F. (Peggy) Wahl of Cranberry Township; her two daughters, Mary Ann (Harley) White of Zelienople and Grace (Tom) Crawford of Ellwood City; her two brothers, John (Ann) Zajacs and Steve (Maureen) Zajacs; her sisters, Mary Ann Stickel, Helen Wehr, Margaret (Dave) Eberley, and Elizabeth Crans; her seven grandchildren, Teresa White, Vickie (Bryan) McGee, Michael (Tracy) White, Stacey Wahl, Kelly Wahl, Megan Hafner, and Tiffany Hafner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Wahl, who died Jan. 29, 1989.
