Butler native Jade Werth is coming back to town with his new band Apples and Airplanes to perform Saturday at the Butler Days Inn.

When he lived in Butler, Werth was a member of the band Neighbor.

The four-member Apples and Airplanes band was formed in early 2011 in Raleigh, N.C.

In addition to Werth, who lends vocals and plays guitar and harmonica, band members are Jack Johnson on vocals, saxophone, drums and guitar, Calvin Kearney on drums and keyboards, and Matt Voos on vocals, bass and guitar.

Breaking the conventions of the average four-piece band, Apples and Airplanes combines elements of acoustic rock with those of funk, gospel and hip-hop.

Their biggest show to date was opening for 311 and Sublime with Rome at the Time Warner Cable Amphitheater in Raleigh.

This Saturday’s show will open with Butler area band Cave at 7:10 p.m.

Apples and Airplanes will go on at 7:55 p.m. followed by the band Back Stabbing Good People at 8:45 p.m. The group Rusted Root will play at 10 p.m.
