Marian L. Fleeger, 90, of Chicora died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the Chicora Medical Center following a short illness.

She was born in Butler on May 31, 1921, to David H. Potts and Margaret Holben Potts.

She was a 1941 graduate with a teaching degree from Slippery Rock State College, now Slippery Rock University. She taught school in Chicora and in Oakland township in the Butler School District for 28 years, retiring in 1982.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora, the National Education Association, the Retired Teachers Association and the Chicora Senior Center.

Marian was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was married for 50 years to the late John Fleeger, who she married on Oct. 11, 1942, and who died on Oct. 6, 1992.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Rodgers and her husband, David, of Chicora; her sons, John M. Fleeger Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Butler, David H. Fleeger and his wife, Ruth, of Karns City and Richard E. Fleeger and his wife, Deborah Fleeger, of Petrolia; her seven grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren.

She also was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Edith Wheeler; and her brother, Leonard Potts.

<B>FLEEGER</B> — Visitation for Marian L. Fleeger, who died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main Streets, Chicora, officiated by the Rev.
