Herman (Al) Winters
In loving memory of my husband, Herman (Al) Winters
October 3, 1942 – February 13, 2011
Memories, they are all we have now,
I think of them and start to smile,
Waking up at dawn to a fish in the tub.
Your boots by the door, covered in mud.
You took care of the squirrel that bit Misty on the cheek,
You let her know it was ok to sleep.
You taught Jenn to fish, good as any man.
She heads to the lake as much as she can.
And Shannon, she laughs about breaking your toe.
You never could catch her, isn’t that so?
I can still hear you singing, those tunes that you love
Making up your own words ‘bout the stars above.
A shark on the table, pool was your game
You certainly put many players to shame.
Then came the casino, Tip took us there
Those sevens would bring you grief to bear,
And as we grew older our lives seemed to change,
Family came first, less time for games.
Children, grandchildren, friends or other,
Now your best friend is Paul, your brother
These are just a few of the memories we share,
Thank you Honey for placing them there,
In our minds to keep, forever and true.
So many reasons we all love you.
