Woman taken to hospital after 1-car crash on Route 8
BUTLER TWP — An unidentified woman has been taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after a one-car accident on Route 8.
The accident call came in about 9:45 this morning with South Butler and Lyndora volunteer fire departments, Butler Fire Department and Butler Township police responding.
The woman, whose identity was not available this morning, was trapped in the driver’s seat when the van came to rest in the northbound lanes of Route 8 just past Greater Butler Mart.
Firefighters worked for about 15 minutes to cut off the van’s roof and remove the conscious driver.
She was taken to the hospital by Butler Ambulance. Her condition is unknown.
The accident occurred near where the northbound and southbound lanes of Route 8 split.
