Mary K. Chuba, 86, of Butler died Saturday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

Born Aug. 10, 1925, in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late George T. and Vilma (Rikal) Druda.

Mary was a homemaker and mother, was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora, and had been a member of the former St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora.

Mary was a member of the Tanglewood Center and the 60-plus club at Tanglewood. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling and playing bingo.

She is survived by her son, Michael G. Chuba and his wife, Rose, of Butler; two daughters, Elaine E. Chuba and Frances M. Chuba, both of Butler; two stepgranddaughters; one step-great-grandson; one niece, and several nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Chuba Jr., who she married June 23, 1947, and who died Sept. 14, 1998; two brothers, and one sister.

<B>CHUBA</B> — Friends of Mary K. Chuba, who died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at the VNA Inpatient Hospice will be received at <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The bereavement committee of St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home for a vigil service.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 303 Penn Ave., Lyndora.
