Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, hosts the Great Backyard Bird Count from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 18. Citizens help scientists gather data on the biodiversity of birds across the U.S. and Canada. This workshop and indoor observation session is designed for those age 12 and older. This free event is particularly recommended for teachers and youth leaders who might want to involve their students in citizen science projects. Enrollment is limited, and participants must register by calling 724-794-6011 or registering online at www.dcnr.state.pa.us/calendar no later than Tuesday.
