Kenneth W. “Ken” Martin, 92, of North Washington passed away at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born Nov. 24, 1919, in Butler County. He was the son of the late S. George Martin and the late Martha “Mamie” Black Martin.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired from Spang and Co. as a machinist.

He was the oldest member of the North Washington Presbyterian Church where he held many offices in the church throughout the years. He was also a member of the Parker City-Allegheny Valley Lodge 521 F. and A.M. and the Scottish Rite in New Castle. He was an avid hunter, golfer and snow skier. He also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita DeVault Martin, who he married Dec. 26, 1956, and one son, Gilbert “Gib” McGarvey of Brooklyn, N.Y. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. William (Margaret Ellen) Cook of Eau Claire; two brothers, Charles Martin of Butler and Robert J. Martin of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys O'Donnell and Beatrice Monjar, and two brothers, Dale Martin and Lester Martin.

<B>MARTIN </B>— Friends of Kenneth W. “Ken” Martin, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, will be received at <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Kevin Channel, his pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert V. Mathias.Masonic services, under the direction of the Parker City-Allegheny Valley Lodge No. 521 F. and A.M., will be at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.Burial will be in the North Washington Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Moniteau Food Pantry or to the Salvation Army.
