Fire destroys mobile home
MUDDY CREEK TWP — The state police fire marshal’s office is investigating a blaze early this morning that destroyed a vacant mobile home.
A motorist spotted the fire at the Lake Arthur Estates trailer park and called 911 about 2:20 a.m., according to a Butler County dispatcher.
By the time the first fire crews got there, half of the trailer was in flames, fire officials said.
About 20 volunteer firefighters from Portersville and Prospect as well as Slippery Rock in Lawrence County used water from nearby fire hydrants to douse the blaze.
Fire officials said a portion of the front of the home was saved but the trailer is considered a total loss. A damage estimate was not available.
The owner’s name was not immediately known.
Firefighters remained at the scene until 4:25 a.m. No injuries were reported.
