Charlotte A. Vargo, 71, of Butler died early Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born in McKeesport, Sept. 27, 1940, the daughter of Charles E. Javens Jr. and Helen Borkowski Javens.

Charlotte was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter as well as a very generous, compassionate and kind friend. To all those who knew Charlotte, she was just a good person.

Charlotte shared a special love with Michael, her husband of 53 years and had enjoyed raising and spending time with their children and grandchildren as well as hunting and fishing and sharing their love of the outdoors with him.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining and cooking for family and friends. She loved animals, especially her dogs at home. She enjoyed collecting antique glassware and reading.

A homemaker, Charlotte also had worked as the supervisor of the shipping and receiving department at the Swanson Analysis Co. in Houston, Pa., for more than 15 years.

Surviving are her husband, Michael; four children and their spouses, Gregory and Lynette Vargo of Renfrew, Lorraine and Scott Vogus of Cabot, Melanie and William Fuellgraf and Linda and John Chamberlain, both of Butler; 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Douglas and Jillian Vogus, Alexander, Victoria and Catherine Fuellgraf, John and Hanna Chamberlain, Justin, Joshua and (Samantha), and Gregory Fecich.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

<B>VARGO —</B>Friends of Charlotte A. Vargo, who died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Parish Family Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
