ALLEGHENY COUNTY — The Northern Regional Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred at the 7/11 store at 10 p.m. Sunday in Pine Township.

This store is close to the Butler County border near the Mars-Valencia area.

Police also are looking at this suspect for a store robbery in the Chicora area on Saturday.

The suspect, described as a while man, 20s, 5’4,” wearing a gray hoodie with plaid black and white designs, showed a black semi-automatic to the victim.

When the victim thought this person was kidding, the suspect either racked the slide or pulled the hammer back to show as if he would use the weapon.

The suspect fled on foot north toward Mars with money and cigarettes.

The department has video of the suspect.

The state police in Butler are investigating a robbery at 8:32 p.m. Saturday at the Dollar General in Fairview Township in the Chicora area.

The suspect’s description was the same as that in the Pine Township robbery.

In viewing both surveillance cameras in the stores, it is the same actor, complete clothing description: black/gray checkers hoodie sweat shirt, black ski mask with what appears to be larger cut eye holes, tan cargo type pants, white tennis shoes with a large insignia on the side.

The same gun, small black semi-automatic handgun was used.

In both robberies, the suspect either racked a round or pulled back the hammer.

The man was soft-spoken and said thank you and apologized. Both times he ran on foot and no vehicle was seen.
