Instead of looking at taxes paid, why not look at the tax rate? When I am taxed, I look at my tax rate, not how much everyone in my bracket paid. I am concerned that I pay a higher rate that Warren Buffet does! I am concerned that the head of Bank of America got $100 million dollars in taxpayer bailouts and only got fined $5 million - leaving him the nice sum of $95 million. Not bad for a day at the office!
Leiberman introduced the bill in the Senate proposing another super committee - that one Reid said was DOA that was the one I thought you were talking about. The one from the House has a rider to pass the Keystone XL Pipeline - because the only people that benefit from that are oil companies, lobbyists and the congressmen (including Toomey and Boehner) that are in their pockets, that one is also DOA.
