Dad you were someone who would listen, suggest and defend

You were one of our very best friends

You were proud of us and when things went wrong

Dad, you were patient, helpful and strong.

In all that we do your love still plays a great part

For that we hold you deep in our heart.

We were never ready to say goodbye to someone we held so dear.

If it were up to us Dad, we’d always keep you here.

But five years ago today God had reasons of his own

And for that we could not keep you home.

As each year passes we couldn’t be more proud and glad

To have once been able to call you our Dad.
