NEW CASTLE — The Pennsylvania Superior Court will hear arguments Jan. 10 on whether to open the juvenile court trial for a boy who was 11 when he allegedly murdered his father’s pregnant fiancée and her unborn child.

The New Castle News reported the scheduled session on Sunday. That newspaper along with two Pittsburgh papers are appealing a decision by a Lawrence County judge to close the trial of Jordan Brown. The Wampum boy is now 14, but was originally charged as an adult in the February 2009 killings before the case was moved to juvenile court earlier this year.
