Bowlers hit perfection

A couple of county bowlers found perfection on the lanes recently.

Bob Eppinger rolled a 300 game as part of a 775 series during Bon Aire Monday Niters action at Bon Aire Bowl. Eppinger sandwiched the 300 between games of 279 and 196.

Brian Marcellus rolled his second 300 game of the season, tossing it on lanes 7 and 8 at Sherwood Lanes during Butler City Tenpin League play at Sherwood Lanes.

Marcellus also rolled a 300 game during Butler County Traveling League play earlier this season. Congratulations Bob and Brian!

Body position at the foul line plays a large role in the proper release of your bowling ball toward its intended target.Ideally, your shoulders should be square to the target. Many bowlers will bend too far at the waist at the point of release, causing them to pull the shot. If you feel as though this is a problem, try keeping your “chin up”.Focus on keeping your chin up and eyes on your target during your approach. This will help keep your shoulders back and in good position for a solid release.

The maximum weight allowed for a bowling ball is 16 pounds. What is the minimum weight? Answer at the end of the column.
