Cora Alexander
Cora Alexander, 90, of 435 N. Broad St., Grove City, formerly of West Liberty, died at 10:07 p.m. Friday at the Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City.
Born in Brady Township, Sept. 4, 1921, she was the daughter of John Alexander and Anna Link Alexander.
She had worked for the Slippery Rock School District in the custodial department.
She was an accomplished musician, playing guitar with her family band, “Albert Alexander and His Band.” Her brother, Albert, played fiddle, and they played for many of the square dances in the area.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed raising canna flowers.
Surviving are a number of cousins.
ALEXANDER — Services for Cora Alexander, who died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, will be at
Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, at 11 a.m. Tuesday with James Lewis, pastor of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Interment will be in West Liberty Cemetery, West Liberty, Brady Township.
