A Cranberry Township man was killed early today in a crash on Interstate 79 in Franklin Park, Allegheny County, authorities said.

Damian Davila, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:25 a.m., according to an investigator with the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

A preliminary cause of death was not released. An autopsy was planned for later today.

Davila was driving north when his car struck a utility pole after rear-ending a northbound tractor-trailer, state police said.

The trucker of Franklin County suffered minor injuries.

Police said the investigation continues.
