HARRISBURG — A bill to make it a misdemeanor to release photos or recordings from an autopsy is closer to becoming law following a vote in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

The House voted 195-0 on Wednesday to send the measure over to the state Senate.

There are exceptions, including when the photo or recording is needed by law enforcement or when the dead person or their representatives gives permission.
