Earl D. Phillips
Earl D. Phillips, 77, of Parker passed away Monday afternoon at ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.
Born in Parker, Sept. 30, 1933, he was the son of the late John Lincoln and Lillian B. Taylor Phillips.
Earl was married to Joan Eiler Phillips Sept. 21, 1957, in Winchester, Va., and she survives.
A diesel automotive mechanic most of his life, he retired from Ralph Dittman Trucking.
He was a Protestant.
Earl previously was a social member at the VFW in Parker.
He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. He could fix anything and would “prove you wrong” if you said it was broken. He was a hard worker and could build just about anything. Earl was a jokester and enjoyed the company of his dog, “Buddy.”
In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Vern) Slaugenhoup of St. Petersburg, Clarion County; three sons, Richard (Tammy) Phillips of Sligo, David (Traci) Phillips of Knox and Bryan (April) Phillips of St. Petersburg; one sister, Imogene Eiler of Erie; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy L. Phillips, and one brother, Johnny Phillips.
<B>PHILLIPS</B> — Friends of Earl D. Phillips, who died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, will be received at <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Wayne Street, Parker, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. James Berkebile officiating.
