Bill....that is SO not true! In fact, most times, the gas prices in the city are LOWER than those along the highway. Just try stopping to get gas along the PA Turnpike sometime. For years, one of the cheapest places to buy gas in Butler was a convenience store/gas station downtown, several blocks off main street. I don't believe that it has anything at all to do with where the station is located and I really don't find gas "always cheaper" at stations just off the interstate or freeway.
