I'm not a lawyer but many Social Security disability claims are denied the first time around because the application process is complex. An SS lawyer usually charges 30% of the first SS check which includes back pay to the time of the initial claim. It's not a rockstar job for a lawyer but relatively reliable and low stress. IMHO, TV lawyers have too much overhead.
