Butler Little Theatre opens its season Friday with “The Trip to Bountiful.”

Curtain is at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 8 at the theater at One Howard St.

The Maridon Museum once again offers the antiques appraisal event “Treasure or Trinket?” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8 at the museum, 322 N. McKean St. Visitors can take items for verbal appraisals by antique dealers from southwestern Pennsylvania.Cost is $5 per object, with a limit of 10 items. Proceeds benefit the museum. EVANS CITY — A living history will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at Providence Plantation, 300 Textor Hill Road.The program includes character interpreters, period music, a tour and a candlelight dinner based on period recipes.
