Survivor testifies again about Conn. home invasion
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A doctor whose wife and two daughters were killed in a home invasion in Connecticut has finished testifying at the second trial in the case.
Dr. William Petit tells The Associated Press that “it was more nerve racking” to testify this time.
Petit testified today in New Haven Superior Court in the trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky. The 31-year-old faces a possible death sentence if convicted.
His co-defendant, Steven Hayes, was sentenced to death last year. Petit also testified at that trial.
Petit was not cross-examined in the first trial but faced 20 minutes of questioning from the defense today. An attorney pressed Petit on some pieces of his testimony and how they compared with what he had told police.
Petit stood by his testimony.
