ELLWOOD CITY, Lawrence County — A Butler County teenager was among four people who threatened to bring explosives and guns to Lincoln High School on Facebook and were stopped when a student reported that threat to a school administrator.

Nicholas Adam Martinkovich, 18, of West Sunbury, has been charged with threatening to use weapons of mass destruction, making terroristic threats, corruption of minors and conspiracy to threaten the use of weapons of mass destruction.

The threat was discovered Thursday.

The other three people involved include a 16-year-old female high school student and Christopher Michael Vankirk, 21, and Kasey James Kimmel, 20, both of Ellwood City.

Vankirk and Kimmel face the same charges as were placed against Martinkovich. the juvenile was charged through juvenile court.

State police from the Butler County barracks arrested Martinkovich on Monday and turned him over to Ellwood City police.

Martinkovich was arraigned Monday and his preliminary hearing on those charges is set for Sept. 27 in front of an Ellwood City district judge.

He is currently being held in Lawrence County Prison because he is unable to cover his $40,000 bail.

Ellwood City police have issued arrest warrants for the others involved.

Police were called to the high school by principal Frank Keally after he learned from a couple of female students that a group of people talked on Facebook about getting explosives and placing them on each floor of the school and bringing different types of guns to the building.
