Suspicious package closes courthouse
PITTSBURGH — The U.S. District Courthouse in Pittsburgh has reopened after briefly being closed by federal marshals due to a suspicious package.
A Pittsburgh police bomb squad was dispatched this morning, but police officials have yet to say what, if anything, they found.
But courthouse workers tell The Associated Press they received an automated message from the U.S. Marshal closing the courthouse, and then another telling them it was safe to come to work.
Calls to the marshal’s office and the police have not been immediately returned.
