PORTERSVILLE — Portersville Christian School has several openings available for students in its pre-kindergarten program for the 2011-12 school year.
The first day of school was Tuesday at the school's campus, 343 E. Portersville Road.
Preschool classes meet Tuesday through Thursday from 8:15 to 11:45 a.m. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first served basis.
Students can also enroll in the regular kindergarten through 12th grade school program, with limited openings available.
Parents can contact the school office at 724-368-8787 for information. Financial aid is available for families who qualify.
MUDDY CREEK TWP — The Muddy Creek Oil Field will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The site is off Route 422's exit 528 in Moraine State Park.Visitors will see an operating antique oil field and learn about the history of oil in this area.Free refreshments will be provided by 3MJC.Call 724-368-9185 for directions. JEFFERSON TWP — To raise funds for its children's bereavement camps, Concordia Lutheran Ministries is hosting a fall plant sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 15 on the patio behind the Lund Care Center, 134 Marwood Road.Saxony Gardens Greenhouse will supply flowers with 20 percent of the proceeds benefiting the camps. RENFREW — A luncheon to benefit the Butler Chapter of the American Cancer Society will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 24 at the Brandywine Estate Clubhouse, Route 68.The cost is $25 for lunch or $65 for lunch and the Horizon of Hope Basket from the Longaberger Co.Shelly Duff from KDKA will speak.
