ATLANTA — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is helping police in Atlanta and Los Angeles search for a former NBA player wanted in the killing of a woman.FBI Special Agent Steve Emmett in Atlanta told The Associated Press on Sunday that the agency is involved in the hunt for Javaris Crittenton. Authorities issued a warrant on a murder charge for Crittenton after the shooting of 22-year Jullian Jones. The mother of four was gunned down Aug. 19 in Atlanta.Atlanta police spokesman Sgt. Curtis Davenport said Crittenton was not in custody as of Sunday afternoon. He declined further comment.Authorities say Jones likely was not the intended target when Crittenton fired shots from an SUV. Authorities believe Crittenton was retaliating for an April robbery in which he was a victim.Crittenton spent the 2006-07 season at Georgia Tech and played in 113 NBA games, most recently for Washington.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers are providing no additional information on the condition of a 24-year-old man knocked unconscious after falling 21 feet in a stairwell while leaving a game at Rangers Ballpark.Citing privacy laws, the team Sunday gave no updates on what happened the previous night. Nearly two months ago, Brownwood firefighter Shannon Stone died after tumbling out of first-row seats and about 20 feet to concrete behind the left-field wall when he reached out to catch a baseball tossed his way.
