I’m sad that God

Called you away.

He took you to Heaven,

A year ago today.

I know it is a blessing,

Your mind finally at peace.

I have not forgotten you,

Not in the least.

You spoiled your grandchildren,

As only a grandmother can do.

But this is not the reason

That I still miss you.

To me, you were important.

Very special, indeed.

Always ready to help,

Someone who had a need.

Life’s valuable lessons,

You always shared.

A thousand different ways,

You showed how you cared.

I know it gets easier,

The days will become years.

I’ll remember only good things,

Not shed so many tears.

I want everyone to know,

I honor you this day.

And that you are sadly missed,

Each and every day.
