You shouldn't believe the spam emails that you get. There are websites on the internet that research urban legends and hoaxes. Maybe you should check them out before believing them.

ABC News did an expose on this issue last fall. Because of the foreign competition, Starkist was going to have to layoff most of the employees at the plant. In order to avoid layoffs, the employees of the Starkist plant requested to be exempt from the minimum wage increase. Starkist is the only major employer in Samoa, there is no place else to get a job. Pelosi is elected to serve the people in her district. They asked for this exemption and she came through for them. Her husband is not a major shareholder. Turn off FOX and watch some real news and you will know what is going on around you as well.

By the way, she also saved Boehner's butt because he wasn't capable of getting the votes to get the budget ceiling raised. The deal was not what the Dems wanted, but she knew they had to pass it, so she got the votes needed because Boehner is too weak a leader.
