Once again the "Downtowners" here in our fine city have failed in an attempt to promote Butler. By limiting the number of participants in the Heritage Jeep parade they have made fools of us Butlerites. If this was to be a Guiness record attempt, why limit the number of entries? I understand the logistics involved in such an undertaking. Police, traffic control,crowd control,etc. But, did those who planned this event know how big a deal this was to Jeep people from all over the country? I think not. The next time they plan an event thats going to get nationwide attention, I suggest that the planners don't just go for the glory and assume they know all about the people who will attend. This time they blew it. And alienated a lot of Jeepers across the country. We had a chance at national attention of the best kind and I think we got bad publicity instead.
