Sliders down Ironmen

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock erased a 1-0 deficit with four runs in the seventh inning and three more in the eighth to come away with a 7-5 Prospect League victory over Lorain County (Ohio) Wednesday.

Kevin Jurkatis picked up the win in relief while Chase Byerly earned the save.

Radley Haddad homered, Chris Vopinek tripled and added two RBIs, Michael Durham added a triple and scored twice and Fred Ford doubled and drove in a run, all for Slippery Rock (14-10).

Michael Grieco and Cody Koch had two hits apiece and Steel Russell a single and two RBIs for the Ironmen (11-12).

Slippery Rock holds a two-game lead over Chillicothe (12-12) and the Butler BlueSox (12-12) in the East Division with three games remaining.
