SLIPPERY ROCK — Maribeth Brozena has been named an assistant field hockey coach at Slippery Rock University.

Brozena has been head coach at Wyoming Area High School the past two years, compiling an 18-15-1 overall record. She has also been an assistant coach with the Pennsylvania section of the United States Field Hockey Association's Futures program.

Brozena was a standout player at Bloomsburg University from 2003-06, earning All-PSAC honors three times.

FARMINGTON — Six area golfers have qualified for the Kings Restasurant Junior Player of the Year Championship, slated Tuesday at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on the Mystic Rock course.Bridget Merten of Saxonburg and Elena Bilotto of Mars will be in the girls ages 12-15 division, Nicklaus Cuny and Ryan Koenig of Cranberry Township in the boys 14 division, Hogan Cuny and Brent Rodgers of Cranberry Township in the boys 15-16 division.
