Rainbow Animal Refuge will host Pistons for Pets, its annual motorcycle poker run, on Saturday. Registration is from 10 to 11:40 a.m. Saturday at Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood DriveRegistration is followed by a blessing of the bikes. The ride leaves at noon and finishes at 4:30 p.m. at the Beer Garden, Route 38. The donation is $20 per rider and $5 per passenger and includes dinner and entertainment. Nominations are open for the third annual Steel Magnolia Award, meant for women who have overcome obstacles to positively impact the greater Butler community. The award is funded by the AK Steel Foundation.Each recipient designates a $1,000 donation to an eligible charity of her choice.Nomination essays of 500 words or less must be submitted by July 29.
