Sponsors needed for fundraiserThe Butler County Historical Society is working to create a deck of playing cards that will feature a Butler County historic photo on the face of each card. Rabies clinic planned for petsRENFREW — The Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, will host a rabies clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 30 at the shelter. Shots are $8 per animal.Dogs and cats must be at least three months old. Bring proof of the last rabies shot for a three-year vaccination. Without proof, pets will receive a one-year vaccination. Rummage sale slated at clubMERIDIAN — The Ladies Auxiliary rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Meridian Vets Club, 125 Vets Club Road.

Public bus trip to casino plannedThe YWCA of Butler will sponsor a public bis trip Aug. 18 to Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie. Summer festival set at centerJEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its landmark 130th anniversary summer festival from noon to 6 p.m. July 31, behind the Lund Care Center.Food will be available in addition to entertainment, children’s activities and more.A 3 p.m. worship service will be led by Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Eastern District President Dr. Chris Wicher.
