PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia woman upset about her monthly household allowance is being sentenced for plotting a fake kidnapping to extort money out of her alleged cheapskate husband.

Yudeka Valdez is due in federal court Thursday after pleading guilty to extortion earlier this year.

Authorities say the two men she hired to kidnap her and her husband were an undercover federal agent and informant. They say she gave them $700 for the job — and got the money from her spouse.

Prosecutors say Valdez complained that she could not make car payments on her Mercedes with her monthly allowance.

They have agreed to recommend an 11-month prison term.
