PENN TWP — Butler Country Club tennis held its third annual Women's Member Guest event recently, a Rally for the Cure tournament for breast cancer awareness.

Sixteen women played four matches each using pink tennis balls in a round-robin format. Janet Rocchi and Lisa Simakas defeated Ann Gatty and Sally Gibson in the final.

Other teams included Connie Rosellini and Dyane Bilowick, Mary Jo Mustello and Dana Greenblatt, Linda Sedwick and Mitzy Nagy, Sylvia Ross and Maureen Kusevich, Jackie Smathers and Joan Struebel, Janet Platt and Therese Robb.

The event raised $370.

FARGO, N.D. — Butler High School wrestler Blake Caudill placed sixth at 112 pounds in the 2011 USAW Junior Greco-Roman Nationals in Fargo, N.D., this week.After losing a 7-0, 3-6, 5-1 decision to Jordan Wigger of South Carolina in the first round, Caudill won four straight matches before bowing to Jared Parvinmehr of Illinois 7-0, 10-3 in the fifth-sixth place match.Caudill pinned Dionisos Georgiou of New York in 36 seconds, decisioned Quinton Harrison of Kansas 6-0, 4-2, then upset top-seeded Braun Marquez of Texas 1-0, 2-2 before decisioning Antonio Taylor of Illinois 5-2, 1-0.Caudill is competing in USAW freestyle nationals in Fargo for the rest of this week.
