BRADFORD — Cade Negley and Sam Gross belted two-run homers and Tucker Skerbetz added a solo blast to power the Butler Township 12-year-old team to a 7-3 victory over DuBois in the sectional championship game Tuesday.

Kaden Rock tossed a complete game with 10 strikeouts while Grant Clawson added a pair of hits for Butler Township.

With the win, the squad will advance to the eight-team, double-elimination state tournament, which will be held in State College, beginning on Sunday.

FARMINGTON — Denny Dolci of St. Jude Golf Club fired a second-day round of 73 Tuesday to finish with a 141, good for third place at the Falling Rock Classic at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort's Mystic Rock Course.John Aber of Allegheny Country Club won the event at 138 followed by Brad Westfall of Tygart Lake Golf Course (140).Joe Boros of Treesdale Golf and Country Club tied for 11th (145) and Rob McClellan of Butler Country Club tied for 15th (146).Dolci won the Senior Event while John Aubrey of Aubrey's Dubbs Dred was sixth (148).

BELLE VERNON — Nicklaus Cuny carded a 70 to win the boys age 14 division at the Kings Restaurant Junior Golf Tournament Tuesday at Cedarbrook Golf Course.
