Sliders need 12 innings to earn win
Fred Ford drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 12th inning to score Kyle Brown and give the Slippery Rock Sliders a 5-4 victory over the Chillicothe Paints in Prospect league play Friday at Jack Critchfield Park.
Radley Haddad's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning pushed the game into extra frames.
Brown had four hits, including a triple, while Ford, David Leon, Ethan Santora and Michael Durham each added a double for Slippery Rock (2-2).
Kevin Jurkatis pitched the final two innings to earn the win. The Sliders' relievers combined to toss seven shutout innings.
Chillicothe (2-3), which plated three runs in the top of the first inning, received two hits and two RBI from Brian Suerdick.
