The Butler Township 17s baseball team won four games at the Beat of The East Tournament in West Virginia last week.

The team beat Moundsville (W.Va.) 9-2, the Mid-Ohio Bullets 7-6, the Royal Canadian team, 19-4, and the Oakville (Canada) Royals 2-0.

Dante Dorsey, Alex Ziegler, Josh Freel and Cody West each got wins on the mound for Butler in the four victories.

Thomas Bruce hit three home runs in the four games. Ziegler and Dorsey also homered.

In the 19-4 win over Canada, Anthony Grazianni went 4-for-4 with a double.

REDON, France — Tyler Farrar became the first American to win a July 4 Tour de France stage, dominating a sprint finish in the third leg as teammate Thor Hushovd of Norway kept the yellow jersey.It was the first Tour stage victory for Farrar, one of the world's best sprinters, and showcased the dominance of the Garmin-Cervelo team over the past two days.

WIMBLEDON, England — Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic rose to No. 1 in the ATP rankings for the first time, while Serena Williams dropped to 175th on the WTA list — her lowest spot since 1997.Djokovic officially moved up from No. 2 one day after beating previously top-ranked Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 for his first title at the All England Club. It’s the first time in nearly 7½ years that a man other than Nadal or Roger Federer is ranked No. 1. Djokovic surged past Nadal by going 48-1 with eight titles so far in 2011, including Grand Slam trophies at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
