Man embraces his life as a father

Becoming a father is one of the most nerve-racking experiences for a man, said Nicholas Kujbus, a 29-year-old father of two from West Sunbury.

While the moments leading up to the birth might be stressful, Kujbus said that he wouldn't trade the feeling for anything.

“It's the best feeling in the world,” Kujbus said.

He and his wife, Michelle, had their second baby — and their first son — on May 11.

The couple now have Levi and his 2-year-old sister, Bailey.

Nicholas Kujbus said going through the second birth was a lot more enjoyable than the first because he knew what to expect.

“There were a lot of nerves with the first one,” Kujbus said. “The second one was a little easier.”

There are a lot of differences and changes that have to be made going from one child to two.

The biggest change, Kujbus said, is the growing amount of time and attention both children need from you.

“You have to make sure you designate time to each one,” Kujbus said.

He said his top goal is to teach his son to be a good person.

“I want to teach him right so he's not mean, or develops any bad habits,” he said. “I don't want him to go the wrong way in life.”

Along with the life lessons, Kujbus also looks forward to spending father-son time together.

“I'm looking forward to going hunting, fishing and playing sports with him,” Kujbus said.

Being able to enjoy Father's Day as a father is an amazing experience, Kujbus said.

“It's a good feeling,” he said. “It's a very good feeling.”

He said that one of the best things about being able to celebrate Father's Day as a father is that he gets gifts now instead of just giving them to his dad.

“I got a Sydney Crosby jersey for my first Father's Day,” Kujbus said. “And we went out for a nice dinner for my second one.”

Kujbus said that the first Father's Day was the best because that was the first one with his new child.
