SAXONBURG — The annual Saxonburg Fireman's Carnival is planned for June 13 to 18 this year.

Special events, in addition to the carnival rides and booths, are:

• Pet Parade at 7 p.m. June 13

• Fireman's Water Battle at 7 p.m. June 14

• Little Miss Saxonburg pageant at 7:30 p.m. June 14

• Junior Miss Saxonburg pageant at 7:30 p.m. June 15

• Fireman's Parade at 6 p.m. June 16

• Miss Saxonburg pageant at 7:30 p.m. June 17

• Raffle drawings at noon June 18.

The rides will be open from 6 to 11 p.m. daily with matinee hours from 1 to 6 p.m. June 18.

Admission is $20 but coupons for $3 off are available at the volunteer fire company's website, www.svfc.com.

KARNS CITY — A Broadway Junior Summer Theater Camp will take place noon to 3 p.m. June 20 to 24 and 5 to 8 p.m. June 25 in Karns City High School's auditorium.Directed by Beth Ackelson, the camp for children in grades kindergarten through eight will produce highlights from “Wizard of Oz.”Cost is $125 and includes a T-shirt and four tickets to the performance at the end of the week.For more information, call 724-496-0131.

OIL CITY — Original music will take center stage at the Oil Region Indie Music Festival on June 17.Solo artists and groups will perform their original songs at six locations in the northside business district.Music will start at 5 p.m., with three hours of family-friendly sing/songwriters at three spots. As the night progresses, three additional locations will open and attendees will have the choice of several artists performing at the same time.Music styles will include rock, electronic fusion, hip-hop, bluegrass and blues.Along with music, the festival with also include kids activities, art and concessions from 5 to 9 p.m. on Seneca Street.Music will continue until 2 a.m. Admission to the music is free.More information is available by calling 814-676-5303.
